"Right to repair": a strong signal and valuable message for the trades.

The law promoting the repair of goods passed the Bundesrat (Federal Council) on July 10, 2026. The law transposes the EU directive into national law and is scheduled to come into force on July 31 for most purchase contracts concluded from the end of July 2026 onwards. Kurt Krautscheid, President of the Koblenz Chamber of Skilled Crafts, comments on the new "right to repair".

Necessity is the mother of invention. A wisdom that event organizer D.LIVE, together with the Gottfried Schulz car dealership and Volkswagen, impressively demonstrated with a sold-out premiere of the Düsseldorf drive-in cinema.

The gates to the exhibition car park P1 opened promptly at 19:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening. D.LIVE celebrated the premiere of the Drive-in cinema DüsseldorfThe open-air cinema is presented by Gottfried Schultz and VolkswagenAs night fell, Europe's largest mobile screen was raised. Around 1.000 spectators in 500 cars were thrilled. The program featured "Lindenberg! Do Your Thing."

Entrance, catering and toilet under hygiene regulations

Of course, those responsible made sure that this event was carried out taking into account the special features of the Corona crisis. Michael Brill, CEO of D.LIVE, explains: "Tickets were scanned contactlessly through the closed car windows, and catering consists of pre-packed bags that can be ordered online in advance or purchased on-site, of course exclusively cashless. We are also deploying staff in the queues in front of the catering area and the restrooms to ensure that the necessary distances are maintained. Additional floor markings also serve as reminders of the rules."
