The urgent recommendation of the crisis team of the Bavarian State Government was the deciding factor: The International Crafts Fair (IHM) will not take place in 2020.
She is the next prominent victim of the Corona/Covid-19 virus: the International craft fair, or IHM for short. It was supposed to demonstrate the skills of the trade from March 11 to 15. However, following the urgent recommendation of the crisis management team of the Bavarian state government to postpone or cancel large, international trade fairs until further notice, the organizer, the Society for Craft Fairs (GHM), no choice anymore – and canceled the IHM.

"In view of the spread of the coronavirus, the cancellation of the International Crafts Fair as a major event with 1.000 exhibitors and over 100.000 expected visitors as well as a correspondingly high number of personal contacts is unavoidable," commented GHM boss Dieter Dohr, the decision. "We hope for the understanding of all trade fair participants." This means that the IHM will be canceled entirely this year and will not take place again until March 10-14, 2021.
The accompanying events should be retained first. Traditionally, the IHM is a meeting place for craft policy events. But the general assembly of the Central Association of German Crafts was cancelled at short notice.
