Starting July 1, North Rhine-Westphalia will have a new funding instrument for founders, the Gründerstipendium.NRW.

The "Neue Gründerzeit NRW" initiative, which promotes entrepreneurship, is gaining a new component: The Gründerstipendium.NRW (New Founders' Scholarship NRW) launches on July 1. Founders can receive €1.000 per month for up to one year. The state aims to free them up to focus on their business idea. Funding is distributed decentrally through the startup networks in North Rhine-Westphalia.

"With the Gründerstipendium.NRW (NRW Founders' Grant), we are launching another key measure to transform North Rhine-Westphalia into a state of innovative startups and a vibrant startup scene," says Economics Minister Andreas Pinkwart. The state government is providing €26 million for this purpose until the end of 2022. The Gründerstipendium.NRW addresses the real problem, according to numerous studies: income insecurity in the initial phase. With this new funding, we are providing a jump start for brilliant business ideas in our state."
