Empowering women in the workplace

The "Competence Center for Women and Careers Münsterland" will be established this year at the Münster Chamber of Crafts.

Comprehensive consulting services

The center aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises in family- and women-friendly personnel policy to establish themselves as attractive to female trainees and employees. The competence centers advise small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on attracting and retaining female skilled workers, offer tips for better balancing family and career, and help develop the potential of women within the company. The goal is to bring not only companies but also regional stakeholders into contact with each other and provide support through information and assistance. Four sub-projects are planned: Changing images – transforming companies, MINT 4 girls, creating improved framework conditions for a good balance between family and care, as well as a talent pool and raising awareness among prospective and young female academics for SMEs in Münsterland.

Background: The project is funded with EUR 336.000 from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Local Government, Construction and Equal Opportunities of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and a further EUR 420.000 from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Construction time: It will be implemented between January 1, 2020, and April 30, 2022. A total of 16 competence centers cover all regions of North Rhine-Westphalia.
