Anett Wahl, owner of the Wahl GmbH bakery and confectionery business with over 40 branches, is the "Female Entrepreneur of the State of Brandenburg 2022." The 43-year-old took over the family business in 2017. She focuses on digitalization and process optimization.
Anett Wahl from Bestensee is "Brandenburg Entrepreneur 2022." The owner of the bakery Confectionery Wahl GmbH in Potsdam was Economics Minister Jörg Steinbach and Minister of Social Affairs Ursula Nonnemacher as part of the 13th Brandenburg Women Entrepreneurs and Founders Day (UGT) .
Anett Wahl (43) is the owner of the Wahl bakery and confectionery, with more than 40 branches and over 230 employees. She learned all the bakery processes from the ground up and took over the family business in 2017.

Anett Wahl emphasizes that it's important to continuously review not only her products but also her processing methods.

For the 1st Prize as Entrepreneur of the State of Brandenburg 2022, Anett Wahl receives EUR 3.000.
"I am very pleased that the title is coming to South Brandenburg this year. Anett Wahl is consistently following her path in a challenging, rapidly changing industry," says the President of the Chamber of Crafts Cottbus Corina Reifenstein"Around 22 percent of our craft businesses are run by women – and the trend is rising. This gives us courage and encourages us to continue on our path," says the civil engineer.
"In the future, we need many more courageous female founders like Anett Wahl, who aren't afraid to take the risk of founding a company or taking over a business," Reifenstein continued. More than 2.000 skilled trades businesses will face a generational change and thus a successful business handover in the next five years.
Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke, patron of the competition, congratulated the winners and emphasized in his welcoming message that the prize is intended to encourage other women to "help shape Brandenburg, bring innovations to market and strengthen the economic power in our state."
Runner-up Entrepreneur 2022 the novel Joanna HajnajShe is the Managing Director of Environmental Protection Technologies for Storage Tanks GmbH in Schwedt (Uckermark). third place went on Vanessa Arend-Martin from Teltow (Potsdam-Mittelmark). She is the managing director of the Teltow Bookstore.
The "Brandenburg Entrepreneur" prize is endowed with 1.500 euros and was awarded for the fourth time after 2018. A total of 79 applications were submitted for both prizes. The competition and the UGT were organized under the Motto "Strong women. Strong economy."
Labor Minister Jörg Steinbach honored the award winners as imaginative, courageous and committed entrepreneurs: "Around a third of Brandenburg's companies are run by women. Every single female entrepreneur who asserts her business on the market strengthens the economic power of our state. Regardless of whether they have founded a new company or taken over a business - they all have a lot Time, strength and endurance invested and thus deserve respect and recognition."

Minister of Social Affairs Ursula Nonnemacher emphasized the role model character of the female entrepreneurs: "Brandenburg needs more female founders and entrepreneurs, needs more women in leadership positions. With these awards, we therefore want to encourage even more women in Brandenburg to realize their ideas by starting a business. The award winners impressively demonstrate how successful women are already in a wide variety of industries."
About the competition Female entrepreneurs who hold at least 25 percent of the company shares and hold the management function, micro-entrepreneurs, freelancers and solo entrepreneurs, as well as female start-ups with their registered office in the state of Brandenburg were eligible to apply. Criteria for the jury's evaluation included company presentation, sustainability, and volunteer work. The condition for applying for the "Start-up Entrepreneur of the State of Brandenburg" award was that the start-up could not have been established before January 1, 2020. Women Entrepreneurs and Founders Day is financed from the European Social Fund and the State of Brandenburg.
