ZDK: Worry-free purchase of used electric cars through tests

Used electric cars? Consumers are often skeptical. Auto repair shops offer comprehensive battery testing and cost-effective repairs. "HV batteries can often be repaired down to the cell level," says Thomas Peckruhn of the ZDK (German Electric Vehicle Association).

"HV batteries can often be repaired down to the cell level," says Thomas Peckruhn, Vice President of the Central Association of the German Motor Vehicle Industry (ZDK). "With a thorough investigation in one of our workshops and a complementary Battery diagnostics our partner AVILOO No one needs to buy a pig in a poke," emphasizes Peckruhn, who is also the spokesman for the manufacturer's trade.

The association has compared various providers of so-called "State of Health" tests. "We want to prevent complete component systems or entire vehicles from having to be disposed of," says master mechanic Michael Dittmar, CEO at Dittmar & Stachowiak GmbH, an independent workshop in Bochum. "Sometimes it depends on a single cell whether a battery needs to be replaced completely or not. This is our contribution to Sustainability."
