Transit Connect now electrified

Ford is presenting its Transit Connect as a plug-in hybrid, bringing the Cologne-based company's electrified version of all four van models to a new level.

Compared to the previous generation, the new series offers more payload and more loading volume: Up to 3,7 cubic meter fit into the new Connect as cargo, in terms of payload, up to 820 kg It can also pull: The new development can pull up to Hook up 1.500 kilograms.

The key data for the electrified version are slightly lower: The Plug-in can still transport 770 kilograms and Pull 1.400 kilogramsThis is ensured by the PHEV drivetrain in combination with a 1,5-liter EcoBoost gasoline engine. With this combination, the drive achieves a System output of 110 kW/150 hp and a torque of 350 Newton meters. In pure electric mode, it delivers 330 Newton meters of torque.

The plug-in is loaded either on a 50 kW DC fast charger or 11 kW ACThe charger is already on board. The driver can choose between choose three driving modes, which allows for purely electric driving in "EV Now" mode. The other two modes are purely combustion-engine or a drive type adapted by the system.
