The models are expected to be available from May 2026. For trades businesses, this means a single supplier that will provide clothing and footwear from one source . The collection was first presented as a prototype at A+A 2025, the leading international trade fair for occupational safety and health. Now, the market launch is underway. Under the motto "The Missing Piece," Fristads sees the shoes as a missing element in its existing product range – and as a logical complement to workwear. This repositions the company: moving away from being solely a clothing manufacturer and towards becoming a full-service provider of work equipment.
Developed from practical experience
The focus of product development was not the shoe itself, but the foot. Together with experts from the trades and industry, Fristads analyzed typical stresses encountered in everyday work . The result is a concept that aims to promote natural movement patterns . At the heart of the collection is the so-called FootShape design with a wide toe box . This is intended to reduce pressure points and allow for greater freedom of movement.
This is complemented by a modular insole system : "ActiveStep" is designed for employees with a lot of movement, while "SteadyStep" offers more stability for predominantly standing jobs. The BOA Fit System is used for individual adjustment, allowing for quick and precise fit control.

Technically, Fristads relies on proven components: Vibram outsoles ensure a secure grip, while an HDry membrane combines waterproofing with breathability. The models cover safety classes S1PS, S3S and S7S and comply with the EN ISO 20345:2022 standard.
This makes them suitable for both indoor and demanding outdoor use . The manufacturer also emphasizes sustainability: some of the materials are recycled or bio-based, and the shoes are produced without PFAS.
Strategic step with a signaling effect
With its entry into the footwear segment, Fristads is going beyond a simple product range expansion. The goal is a comprehensive workwear solution for everyday work in the trades – coordinated from the upper body to the feet. The market launch is supported by a 30-day comfort guarantee : companies and employees can test the shoes in their daily work environment and easily return them if they are not satisfied.
