New safety shoe for challenging terrain: the Puma Safety Trail Protect
With its new line of safety shoes, manufacturer Pip Emea is launching a collection for tradespeople who have to adapt to changing surfaces every day.
This article is part of the special feature on workwear: How to dress correctly.
Pip EMEA 's new line is visually and technically inspired by trail running . This is evident not only in the sporty design, but above all in the functionality: the shoes are designed to remain stable even on uneven terrain.
At its heart is the newly developed XTS Trail outsole . Its pronounced lug pattern ensures secure grip on a wide variety of surfaces – from construction sites and factory floors to outdoor areas. The sole is largely self-cleaning, thus maintaining its grip even under challenging conditions.
Damping with every movement
Another key element is the Impulse.Blast® midsole . It absorbs energy during walking and releases it directly. For the wearer, this translates to a noticeably more dynamic running experience and less fatigue – a significant advantage during long workdays. Additional flex grooves support the natural rolling motion of the foot and improve traction, especially in wet conditions.
When it comes to safety, the line relies on the metal-free Fap Lite penetration protection . According to the manufacturer, this is around 50 percent lighter than previous solutions while also being flexible and providing cushioning. The breathable construction ensures optimal foot climate . Inside, the evercushion relief footbed provides exceptional comfort. A combination of memory foam and a stabilizing base layer adapts individually to the foot, reducing pressure points and supporting natural foot posture.
Protection in demanding environments
All models feature a fiberglass toecap, are completely metal-free, and offer ESD protection. The rubber outsole is also heat-resistant up to 300°C – a significant advantage for working in demanding environments.
The collection comprises a total of six models: four S3S protection class variants, one S7S class model, and one S1PS class model. The shoes are available in sizes 36 to 48. The new Puma Safety Trail Protect line has been available from specialist retailers and selected online shops since April 2026.
