The company aims to better integrate digital applications into the daily work routines of tradespeople. The glasses, called "Glasses One," are based on classic safety goggles and are equipped with a camera and voice control . The AI functions will be accessed via a smartphone app. According to the company, the glasses are intended for use on construction sites and in workshops. The market launch is planned for summer 2027.
New opportunities for businesses
The application is designed to support tradespeople in various tasks, including gathering requirements . Based on customer conversations, photos, videos, and measurements, the glasses can analyze information and generate a quote in real time , Strauss explained . They will also facilitate collaboration in international teams through simultaneous translation . Work instructions, technical information, and inventory data will also be accessible during work.
Henning Strauss placed the developments in Berlin in a broader economic context. He stated that German skilled trades possess extensive experience and expertise. In 2025, the company introduced "Toolbox XR," an application for the MetaQuest . According to the company, the app allows users to measure areas, calculate dimensions, and transfer shapes . It is available in the Meta Horizon Store and requires a MetaQuest VR headset.
Strauss categorizes the new glasses as workwearables. These are wearable digital tools designed to support work processes . The company sees this as another area of application for technology in the skilled trades, for example in planning, communication, and documentation.
AI as a complement to practical skills
With regard to the debate on artificial intelligence, Henning Strauss also emphasized the importance of craftsmanship . AI can complement specialist knowledge, but it cannot replace practical skills. The combination of experience, manual labor, and digital tools will become increasingly important for future job profiles in the skilled trades. Whether and how quickly such applications become established in everyday work will likely depend on the technical requirements, costs, and the framework conditions for businesses. In this context, Strauss stressed the importance of innovation-friendly and reliable regulations.
