"Built on IT" competition: Register now and win!

Trainees, trainers, students, graduates, young professionals and start-ups can submit their digital solutions for the construction industry until October 26, 2026.

Young talent in the construction industry is a key driver of competitiveness and performance. The " Built on IT – Construction Professions with a Future 2027 " competition will once again award prizes for innovative and practical digital solutions for the construction industry in four areas: architecture, construction process management, civil engineering, and skilled trades and technology.

The special Start-up Prize will also be awarded again in 2027. Furthermore, Ed. Züblin AG will once again award its own special prize in 2027. Both individual and team submissions are possible in all categories.

The following prizes will be awarded in each of the four categories :

• 2.500 euros for first place,
• 1.500 euros for second place and
• 1.000 euros for third place.

The special Startup prize is endowed with 2.000 euros.

Construction talents present innovative ideas

Besides awarding prizes to the most innovative projects, the competition offers a platform for young professionals to present their ideas and meet with experts from the construction industry . This allows young professionals to make important contacts for their future careers. Companies, in turn, have the opportunity to discover new talent.

Applications for the competition can be submitted online until October 26, 2026. The competition archive offers numerous suggestions and inspiration for potential themes from past competitions. The awards ceremony is planned for January 12, 2027, as part of BAU 2027 in Munich.

About the competition

The nationwide competition " Built on IT – Construction Professions with a Future " was launched in 2002 and annually awards prizes to particularly innovative and practical IT solutions from young talents in the construction industry. Many participants have already launched impressive careers and written success stories. Since its inception, more than 300 projects have been recognized. The competition has thus established itself as a key platform for emerging digital ideas in the construction industry. Since 2019, a special Start-up Prize has also been awarded to particularly innovative founders.

The competition is a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the Central Association of the German Construction Industry , the German Construction Industry Federation, and the Industrial Union for Construction, Agriculture, and the Environment . The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy has assumed patronage of the competition. Since its inception, the competition has been professionally supported and implemented by RG-Bau at the RKW Competence Center.
