Hessian State Prize for Arts and Crafts

Craftspeople from all over Germany can apply for the Hessian State Prize 2027. It will be awarded in January at the Ambiente trade fair in Frankfurt.

The Hessian State Prize for German Arts and Crafts will be awarded for the 75th time in 2027. Craftspeople from all over Germany can apply until October 15, 2026.

The prize is considered one of the most prestigious awards that craftspeople in Germany can receive. It will be presented on Friday, January 29, 2027, during the Ambiente consumer goods fair at the Frankfurt Trade Fair Center.

The jury selects outstanding exhibits from 25 nominees , which are presented in a dedicated exhibition throughout the entire trade fair. The aim of the State Prize is to provide an incentive for particularly creative achievements.

Background: 75th Hessian State Prize Background The award recognizes craftspeople who stand out primarily through independent design approaches, innovation, mastery of materials and techniques, and a convincing overall impression of their work.
Bonus The prize money, totaling 13.000 euros, is provided by the Hessian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy, Transport, Housing and Rural Areas.
Application Submission deadline for digital applications is October 15, 2026.
