Applications open for the German Occupational Safety Award

Best practice examples from occupational safety are sought: The application period for the German Occupational Safety Award 2027 runs until June 30, 2026. The winners will each receive 10.000 euros.

The construction company has been pursuing this for years Mainka Construction From Lingen in the Emsland region, strategies for occupational safety. The family-owned company with over 1.300 employees operates on large construction sites throughout Germany. This often made communication slow and prone to disruption in the past, especially regarding occupational safety.

By developing digital tools for occupational safety and environmental protection, the company achieved improvements in six areas: using QR codes and its own MainkaApp. This makes it easier to collect and document occupational safety information, uses resources more efficiently, optimizes processes, and reduces environmental impact. The innovation offers many other advantages, and in 2025, the company, along with three other companies, won the German Occupational Safety and Health Award (DASP).

Such and similar best-practice examples are in demand again: The application phase for the German Occupational Safety Award 2027 It started on April 1st and runs until June 30th, 2026. The prize will again be awarded in four categories, each with a prize of €10.000. The award ceremony is under the patronage of Federal Minister of Labor Bärbel Bas is planned for April 2027 in Berlin.
