The German Federal Guild Association of the Building Cleaning Trade (BIV) hosted the national finals on November 6th in Soltau, Lower Saxony. The "Heide Park Resort" was the venue for the search for the 2025 national champions. Following the "Rotes Rathaus" (Red City Hall) in Berlin, which hosted the German Building Cleaning Championship last year, this was another exceptional location. "It demonstrates how diverse, innovative, and professional our trade is. Today, we are shining a spotlight on the brightest minds in our industry – and this year, we are doing so in the particularly exciting setting of this theme park!" explained BIV board member Matthias Stenzel in a press release from the association.
Federal Champion 2025
Under the watchful eyes of the ten-member jury, the approximately eight-hour competition focused on top performance at three stations : the mechanical cleaning of a pool area and a carousel gondola using melamine pads, as well as the high-pressure cleaning of the guide rails of a catapult roller coaster using telescopic lifting platforms.
The first national champion was Lea-Marie Kosakow , a native of Berlin, who competed for Saxony at the 2025 German Championship for the Building Cleaning Trade . Second place in the ten-strong field went to Erik Gaus from Lower Saxony . David Fiegenbaum from North Rhine-Westphalia came in third . The top three competitors will receive the Carl Gegenbauer Prize, endowed with a total of €4.500 . Furthermore, all participants will compete next year for the €2.000 " Newcomer Prize ."
Celebration in Frankfurt/Main
The awards ceremony for the skills competition will take place on December 5, 2025, in the Palmengarten in Frankfurt am Main. During the event, the German Confederation of Skilled Crafts (ZDH) will honor the winners of the German Championship and the design competition "Good Design in Craftsmanship – Craftspeople Design".
