The German champions in the butcher's trade were determined in a two-day competition in Dresden . A total of six female butchers' assistants participated in the completely redesigned competition , according to a press release from the German Butchers' Association (DFV).
The biggest innovation of this new, demanding competition was that participants no longer received any prior information about the tasks they would have to complete during the two days of competition. "This meant that creativity, knowledge, and craftsmanship were more important than ever before," explains the German Crafts Association (DFV). This concept is based on EuroSkills and WorldSkills – the European and World Championships of skilled trades. The concept, developed by the German Crafts Association, is therefore also called "German Craft Skills."

At the 2024 German Championship for Butchers' Assistants, Franziska Meyr ( training company: Feinkost-Metzgerei Weber, Lenggries ) from Bavaria secured the title . Second place went to Johanne Cent ( training company: Rewe Daniel Schulze oHG, Wilhelmshaven ) from Lower Saxony .
