Double victory for floor fitter Noel-Eric Gierich from Baden-Württemberg: In Ehingen, he won the PLW and the design competition. Franz Dybek from Saxony took first place in the parquet fitter category.
According to the Federal Association of Parquet and Flooring Technology, over 350 visitors attended the national skills competition for parquet layers and floor layers at the Ehingen (Donau) Vocational School .
Noel-Eric Gierich from Baden-Württemberg became the first national winner of the PLW (Professional Competition) for floor layers . Jan Dirkschnieder from North Rhine-Westphalia took second place , and Semih Caliskan from Hesse came in third.
At the national skills competition for parquet layers, Franz Dybek from Saxony prevailed against his competitors. Maximilian Surau from North Rhine-Westphalia came in second . Louis Reinfurth from Bavaria took third place.
The winners of the design competition , in which the most beautiful journeyman's piece is chosen, were Noel-Eric Gierich among the floor layers and Louis Reinfurth among the parquet layers.

The German Skilled Trades Competition (PLW) takes place annually in over 130 trades and in up to four successive stages (guild, chamber, state, and federal levels), according to the German Confederation of Skilled Crafts (ZDH). The national winners will be honored by the ZDH in a ceremony in Augsburg on December 9, 2022. The patron of the PLW is the incumbent Federal President.
Federal specialist group leader Tobias Michalak thanked the 46 sponsors at the awards ceremony for their financial and material support of the competition. He also highlighted the contributions of the vocational school and the Baden-Württemberg guild. The Hans-Schwier-Berufskolleg in Gelsenkirchen will host the 2023 PLW (Professional Competition for Parquet Layers and Floor Layers).
