Campaign: "Me and BG BAU" for the start of the Paralympics

On the occasion of the opening of the Paralympic Games in Paris on August 28, 2024, the German Construction Industry Accident Insurance Association is launching its new campaign "Me and BG BAU."

With its new campaign " Me and the BG BAU. Together since... ", the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the Construction Industry ( BG BAU ) demonstrates how it supports its insured members for years – sometimes for their entire lives – after workplace accidents or occupational diseases . The campaign also aims to inspire and encourage others.

"We at BG BAU see ourselves as a partner and advisor , standing by our insured members after workplace accidents, which can often be life-changing, " explains Michael Kirsch , CEO of BG BAU. "In all our measures, our goal is always to provide the best possible care and support on the path to self-determination and autonomy . Sport can play a very important role in this ."

Kick-off with Para-ice hockey player Jacob Wolff

Para ice hockey player Jacob Wolff is a trained carpenter . In 2006 , the 46-year-old suffered a serious workplace accident : he fell from a roof and sustained an incomplete spinal cord injury. Through sports, however, he gained a new focus in life – with the support of the BG BAU (German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the Construction Industry). Following the accident, the BG BAU provided acute care and ensured his medical, vocational, and social rehabilitation. Furthermore, the BG BAU also funds, among other things, specially adapted sports equipment and gear for Wolff.
