HWK is a partner in the "Alliance for Circular Construction"
The Saarland focuses on resource-efficient and economical construction.
With a broad alliance of businesses, municipalities, and the state government, Saarland is setting the course for resource-efficient and economical construction. At the beginning of September, eleven partners signed the agreement "Alliance for Circular Construction in Saarland." The Saarland Chamber of Skilled Crafts (HWK) is a partner in the alliance and is currently establishing an innovation network with an advisory and service center.
Helmut Zimmer, President of the Chamber of Skilled Crafts (HWK) , says of the alliance: "Circular construction can only succeed if stakeholders along the entire value chain collaborate. Therefore, it is important that we in Saarland not only talk about circularity, but also create concrete structures for its implementation. To this end, the Chamber of Skilled Crafts, with the support of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, is currently establishing an innovation network with an advisory and service center. The aim will be to actively bring businesses together, make knowledge available, and develop practical solutions. Our goal is clear: We want to make Saarland's skilled trades an active shaper of the circular construction industry, thereby simultaneously strengthening regional value creation and competitiveness."
This is circular construction.
In circular construction, buildings are planned from the outset to be easier to renovate , modernize , or deconstruct later on . This allows building components and materials to be reused or recycled. This conserves raw materials, reduces waste, and makes the construction industry less dependent on supply bottlenecks and rising material prices.
With this agreement , the partners establish common guidelines for the further development of the Saarland construction industry. They have agreed on seven guiding principles, which focus, among other things, on the economical use of resources, innovation, regional value creation, and the exemplary role of the public sector.
