Many craft businesses still face significant challenges in implementing e-invoicing.
The Central Association of German Crafts (ZDH) is therefore advocating for a postponement of the mandatory implementation – now the support of businesses is needed.
As things stand, companies have been required to be able to receive e-invoices since January 1, 2025. From January 1, 2027, businesses with a turnover exceeding €800.000 in the previous year will be obligated to issue e-invoices. This obligation will apply almost nationwide from 2028.
From the perspective of the skilled trades, however, this timeline is not feasible for many businesses. The German Confederation of Skilled Crafts (ZDH) is therefore calling for a one-year postponement of the obligation.
