The lack of professional experience previously made direct entry into technician training impossible. Good news: The requirement to prove twelve months of relevant professional experience has been waived. This makes entry significantly easier. At the Saarland Master Craftsman and Technician School (SMTS) of the Saarland Chamber of Skilled Crafts, the qualification as a "State-Certified Technician" can be obtained in less than two years. The training provides practical expertise in the fields of electrical engineering and mechanical engineering and opens up career prospects in management, project management, or specialized technical roles. Successful completion entitles graduates to use the title "State-Certified Technician" and includes the acquisition of university entrance qualifications.
