Change: Opticians' Guild Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland

The opticians' guild of Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland elected Andreas Müller from Spiesen-Elversberg as the new state guild master on October 29th.

Andreas Müller succeeds Patricia Fuchs from Schifferstadt and will lead the guild until the end of the current term in 2027. Alexander Lehr from Mainz was elected deputy state guild master. With Andreas Müller, a proven expert in the optician's trade takes over the leadership of the guild. He began his apprenticeship in 1972 at his parents' business, Brillen Müller, in Spiesen-Elversberg. After passing his master craftsman's examination in 1983, he took over management of the business a year later. From 1987 to 2008, he served as a board member of the Saarland Opticians' Guild, and from 1993 as its chairman. Following the merger of the Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland guilds in 2008, he remained on the board as deputy state guild master.

Andreas Müller also brings decades of association experience: Since 1993, he has been a board member and delegate of the Southwest German Association of Opticians and Optometrists (SWAV), and since 1999, its vice chairman. As a delegate to the Central Association of Opticians and Optometrists (ZVA) and as a member of the "Business Management" and "Collective Bargaining Commission" committees, he actively contributes to shaping the future direction of the trade. Furthermore, Müller worked for many years as an expert in the optician trade at the Saarland Chamber of Skilled Crafts.
