Protection against AI-powered cyberattacks

On November 18th and 25th, from 9 to 11 a.m. each day, the seven Chambers of Skilled Crafts in North Rhine-Westphalia and the West German Chambers of Skilled Crafts (WHKT) are organizing the two-part online event "Cybersecurity in Skilled Crafts - Cybercrime and AI: Attack and Defense".

The two-day event focuses on the new dangers that craft businesses face from cybercrime and artificial intelligence (AI) – and how they can effectively protect themselves . Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular are increasingly targeted by criminals. They, too, possess sensitive customer and business data and rely on functioning IT systems. Furthermore, AI is making attacks ever more sophisticated: deceptively realistic invoices and emails, fake voices, and automated attacks make it increasingly difficult to detect fraudulent activities in time.

But AI can also offer protection – if you know how and which measures are appropriate for your own business. The program includes a live hacking demonstration and a firsthand account from a business affected by a cyberattack. Furthermore, cyber insurance, support initiatives, and awareness training programs for businesses will be presented in a practical manner.

Participants gain concrete insights into how cybercriminals operate, where typical vulnerabilities lie, and what measures craft businesses can take to improve their digital security.
