Digital solutions for everyday business
The "Forum Zukunftsregion" in Koblenz showed how digitalization can help craft businesses build future-proof business models.
The University of Koblenz campus recently hosted a forum for the exchange of ideas and perspectives between academia and industry at the Future Region Forum . Forty participants accepted the invitation from the Koblenz Chamber of Skilled Crafts , the Koblenz Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the University of Koblenz, the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences, and the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. Engaging topics provided ample opportunity for in-depth discussions. For example, one group, working on "Digitalization & Sustainability," developed a digital product passport for a shoemaking business.
The workshop highlighted how digital solutions can contribute to greater transparency, resource conservation, and future-proof business models. Dr. Nora Kern, digitalization consultant at the Koblenz Chamber of Skilled Crafts (HwK Koblenz ), then provided valuable tips for day-to-day operations in the skilled trades and pointed out the free consulting services offered by the HwK Koblenz to its member businesses. These include the 360° Sustainability Check, the Future Compass for Skilled Trades, and the e-tool.
