Successfully and at full speed towards a professional qualification

Cedric Fuchs commuted between his journeyman's examination as an electronics technician in the Westerwald region and GT4 races in Portugal.

He's used to full throttle ever since he took his first laps in a go-kart as a little boy. But the workload he's now completed is astonishing even for 20-year-old motorsport driver Cedric Fuchs: Because his participation in the Winter Series in Portimão, Portugal, coincided with his journeyman's exam back home in the Westerwald region, he spent many hours in the air during the final stretch of his professional qualification: Weekends in Portugal, Mondays back to Holzappel, and a few days later, the whole thing in reverse. "It was exhausting, and I was constantly studying," he reports. He spent hours at a time in the driving simulator, alternating between practicing the racetrack and reviewing the exam material.

His motivation? Just like in his Mercedes AMG GT4, he always had his goal clearly in mind. "It's important to me to complete my apprenticeship successfully. I owe that not only to myself, but also to my family, who have always supported me in balancing the racetrack and my apprenticeship, and to my boss, without whose flexibility this would never have been possible." Roger Mallm always supported Cedric at his training company, Elektrotechnik Mallm (Dreikirchen). From day one, he accepted that his apprentice would need regular vacation time due to his motorsport commitments. The effort paid off: After a very successful season, Cedric became Rookie Champion. He also started strong in Portugal, securing several first-place finishes. He also passed his journeyman's exam with flying colors and recently received his certificate of completion. His next plans? In motorsport: "To compete at the European level, if possible." And professionally: "Of course, to get my master craftsman's certificate!"
