Starting together – preventing dropouts

The Koblenz Chamber of Skilled Crafts and Trades (HwK Koblenz) supports trainees and companies with targeted coaching to overcome challenges in training.

Starting an apprenticeship or preparing for exams such as the intermediate or final exams presents many young people with significant challenges. Often, personal circumstances, a lack of learning strategies, or integration problems in the workplace lead to feeling overwhelmed and, in the worst case, to dropping out.

The Chamber of Crafts (HwK) Koblenz supported with the Project "Training support to prevent training dropouts" Trainees and businesses alike can participate free of charge to identify crises early and successfully complete their vocational training in the skilled trades.

At the same time, the chamber's commitment sends a strong signal against the skilled worker shortage. "Every apprenticeship dropout is a loss – both for the young person and for the craft business, which urgently needs qualified young talent," explains [name/title of speaker]. Jens Fiedermann, Head of Training at the Koblenz Chamber of Skilled Crafts. "Our project offers a neutral point of contact. We help develop learning strategies, resolve conflicts, and provide targeted support to prevent a crisis from leading to a dropout."
