Great success: Crafts Fair 2.0 in the heart of Koblenz city center

Eighty companies captivated thousands of visitors over three days with live demonstrations, hands-on activities, and discussions. The exhibitors and organizers are extremely pleased with the new concept.

The first trade fair for skilled trades in its new format exceeded all expectations over three days: From Friday to Sunday, around 80 businesses from Koblenz and the surrounding area presented their products and services directly in Koblenz's city center, covering a total area of ​​approximately 70.000 square meters, right in the middle of the weekend bustle. The first "Craft Fair 2.0" in its new downtown format generated great enthusiasm in Koblenz and far exceeded expectations. For three days, around 80 businesses from Koblenz and the surrounding region showcased their skills right in the heart of the city. They transformed squares and streets covering an area of ​​approximately 70.000 square meters into a vibrant experience. After more than 20 years without a craft fair, it quickly became clear: the new concept was a resounding success. Thousands of visitors flocked to the fair over the weekend to explore the signposted route through the city center.

Between Görresplatz, Münzplatz, Jesuitenplatz, and Zentralplatz, visitors could experience crafts firsthand – from traditional ivory carving and woodturning to modern boatbuilding. Hairdressing was on offer, bread was baked in a wood-fired oven, slate was worked, and various handcrafted items were created, often with opportunities for hands-on participation. The close interaction between businesses and visitors fostered numerous conversations and genuine interest in the crafts. Many businesses even reported receiving job applications directly at the fair. 

Background: Conclusion of the Crafts Fair 2.0 Conclusion The Koblenz Chamber of Skilled Crafts, one of the organizers, also drew a thoroughly positive conclusion and sees the new format as a successful way to present skilled trades in a visible, tangible, and approachable manner. Together with regional partners, the concept aims to further strengthen the importance of skilled trades for the economy, training, and quality of life in the region.
