The Trier Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and Chamber of Skilled Crafts (HWK) present the results of the 2025 mobility survey.
The results of the current mobility survey by the Trier Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and the Trier Chamber of Skilled Crafts (HWK) show: The pressure to act is increasing!
Companies rate their accessibility lower than in 2021 and see a significant need for action in many infrastructure areas. Many companies in the region are particularly critical of rail connections and also see a need to catch up regarding charging infrastructure. Accessibility to rural areas remains a key mobility issue for companies in the coming years. Despite increased satisfaction levels, improved public transport connections would be the most important measure for most companies in the current survey to further enhance the attractiveness of their location. From an operational perspective, companies consider the completion of the A1 motorway gap by far the most important infrastructure project, thus underscoring its supra-regional significance. Although sustainable mobility plays a major or very major role in most companies' strategies and companies support a wide range of measures in this regard, many measures discussed or implemented by policymakers are considered too far-reaching.
