From luminous Christmas displays to convivial mulled wine hikes – the Ahr Valley offers a variety of winter events at the start of Advent.
Anticipation Fancy it? In Ahr Valley A series of Christmas events will begin on November 28, 2025. To kick off Advent, visitors can look forward to... diverse winter wonderlands and events looking forward.
Homemade (mulled) wines, Christmas stalls with handcrafted art and delicacies cooked directly over an open fire: The Wine Night Market im Marienthal Monastery opens its doors from 28. to 30. November as well as from 5. to 7. December 2025.

The Christmas market in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler however, is on all four Advent weekends Open. Here, brightly lit streets, charming half-timbered houses and festively decorated shop windows welcome guests – including mulled wine from local vintners, handmade decorations and regional dishes.
To the Weekends of the second, third and fourth Advent celebrates the Burgbrohl Castle breast Christmas Festival. Amidst the wintery castle romance, visitors are offered a Christmas market with exhibitors from the region, handicrafts, culinary delights and live music.

The Christmas market in honor of Saint Lucia, which is considered a bringer of light on dark winter days, can be found in Rech on the second weekend of Advent It takes place and is modeled after the Swedish Lucia festival. During the festival, the wine village, nestled between half-timbered houses and courtyards, is bathed in a festive sea of lights.
