Broadcasting fee: Account balance now available online

The ARD, ZDF and Deutschlandradio contribution service is expanding its online service: Contribution payers can now digitally check whether their broadcasting contribution account is balanced.

Private broadcasting users can now check their account balance free of charge at rundfunkbeitrag.de/kontostand to see if their account is balanced, has an outstanding payment, or has overpaid. The new online service also shows upcoming payment dates.

Commercial users can access the service portal for businesses . After registration , they can manage their business premises and vehicles subject to contributions.

Digital query instead of calling the hotline

"The official website of the broadcasting fee collection service , rundfunkbeitrag.de, with its online forms, represents one of the most important channels for all inquiries concerning the broadcasting fee. Nevertheless, many citizens call us every day with questions about the status of their fee account," explains Kai Winter , Head of Operations at the broadcasting fee collection service.

"By offering the option to check account balances digitally , we are meeting the specific need of people to have an overview of their own contribution account . With this new online service, we offer contributors a modern, fast and efficient alternative to calling our hotline."

Payment via SEPA Direct Debit: "Those participating in the SEPA scheme don't need to worry about paying the broadcasting fee regularly. With a corresponding direct debit mandate, the fees due are collected automatically and always on time ," informs the ARD , ZDF , and Deutschlandradio Broadcasting Fee Service. " Changes to the fee amount are also automatically taken into account with an existing direct debit mandate . Checking the account balance is, of course, also possible for fee payers participating in the SEPA direct debit scheme." Source: ARD ZDF Deutschlandradio Broadcasting Fee Service .
