From March 8th to 13th, 2026, Light + Building, the world's leading trade fair for lighting and building technology, invites all trade visitors to Frankfurt am Main.

The electrical trade is one of the main pillars of the Light+BuildingThis significance is evident not only in the large number of relevant exhibitors, but also in the formats and events specifically tailored to the industry. Light + Building thus provides the skilled trades with a platform where competence, innovation, and community become visible. 

The Power Festival – the new stage for the electrical trade

For the first time, the Light + Building 2026 the Power FestivalA central meeting point for the entire electrical trade, located in the Galleria between Halls 8 and 9, will be open in 2026. The new concept combines information, entertainment, and community in one place. A familiar feature is the workshop area, which will be presented with a fresh new look in 2026. Manufacturers will continue to host practical challenges here, where craftsmanship takes center stage and attractive prizes can be won. The popular format remains true to its core but boasts a new design and expanded interaction options. 

The offerings are complemented by the Creator Area, where well-known content creators from the electrical trade produce content live, exchange ideas, and present their work to a broad audience. On the Power Festival Stage, manufacturers and skilled tradespeople meet to discuss their daily work, technical innovations, and their passion for their craft. Podcasts are produced directly from the trade fair in the Power Festival Studio, while the Power Festival Lounge, with its deck chairs and drinks, provides a space for relaxation, conversation, and new inspiration. 

With this versatile concept, Light + Building creates a unique experience: The Power Festival It makes the electrical trade not only visible, but tangible – practical, creative and collaborative.

The E-Crafts Forum In the foyer of Hall 12.0, in the passageway to Hall 11.0, information is offered by experts from the Central Association of German Electrical and Information Technology Crafts (ZVEH) and exhibitors will present current standards, regulations, and innovations related to energy efficiency, sector coupling, electromobility, and smart and secure building solutions. The forum is organized by the editorial team. "de – das elektrohandwerk" in cooperation with the ZVEH and Messe Frankfurt. 

Practical and future-oriented – the ZVEH's e-house

Another attraction is the ZVEH's E-House. It impressively demonstrates how modern building technology already works today, from smart home applications and photovoltaics to heat pumps and energy storage systems. Visitors can experience how comfort, energy efficiency, and sustainability can be combined in a networked system. With over 48.000 member companies and almost 50.000 apprentices, the ZVEH is a strong partner and significantly shapes the image of the electrical trade at the trade fair. 

Hands-on AI – the AI ​​Lounge 

AI Lounge Light + Building, in collaboration with handwerk.live, is focusing on practical digitalization. Here, exhibitors will demonstrate how artificial intelligence can be effectively used in everyday craft work. Visitors can try out applications directly and learn how smart tools can streamline processes and open up new business opportunities. The AI ​​Lounge will thus become a central hub for inspiration, exchange, and practical training in the field of digital transformation. 

Stronger together – the image of the community 

A particular highlight of Light + Building 2026 is the community photo of the electrical trades. For weeks, professionals submitted photos from their everyday work – directly from the construction site, the office, or in front of their company vehicles. From an empty grid, an impressive mosaic has emerged: real faces that represent passion, competence, and solidarity. 

This large-format collaborative image will be displayed on banners and posters at Light + Building. It shows what this industry is all about – real people, real passion, and the conviction: We install the future.
