Retrofitting underfloor heating systems is easy – flexible, quick and convenient with Schlüter-Systems.

Want to increase comfort and coziness in existing buildings? And at the same time, enjoy flexible heating and simplify everyday life? Retrofitting underfloor heating in older buildings often seems complex, expensive, or poses structural challenges. With Schlüter-BEKOTEC-THERM and Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT-E, Schlüter-Systems offers solutions that function reliably not only in new buildings but also in existing ones. Without visible radiators, walls remain uncluttered, opening up new possibilities for interior design. Especially when combined with ceramic and natural stone, this creates rooms that are both comfortably warm and attractively designed.

BEKOTEC-THERM: a smart solution for the whole home

BEKOTEC-THERM is designed to be particularly flat and lightweight, so doors, pipes, and connections remain intact. Conventional underfloor heating systems usually require screed thicknesses of 45 millimeters or more. BEKOTEC-THERM It requires approximately 8 millimeters of screed over the studs – depending on the floor's construction. The floor is ready to walk on more quickly, rooms are ready sooner – daily life is hardly disrupted. The system also demonstrates its advantages during operation. Thanks to the even heat distribution, BEKOTEC-THERM BEKOTEC-THERM operates with lower flow temperatures. While conventional underfloor heating systems often require 45 to 50 °C, the operating range for BEKOTEC-THERM – depending on the building, its use, and the floor covering – is frequently around 30 °C. Less mass needs to be heated before warmth becomes noticeable, and the floor reacts more quickly to changes in the temperature control. The result: a consistently warm and comfortable room. BEKOTEC-THERM is also suitable for use with renewable heating systems such as heat pumps. The low flow temperatures allow for optimal coordination between the heating system and the heat pump. This ensures that the heating system operates continuously within a comfortable temperature range that can be flexibly adapted to everyday life. The controls are simple, so the heat is delivered precisely where it is needed.

DITRA-HEAT-E: Heat exactly where you need it

Whether in the bathroom in the morning, in the reading nook in the evening, or in rarely used rooms – the electric radiant heating system delivers warmth precisely where it's needed. With a height of just 5,5 millimeters, including the heating cable, it fits easily into existing floors or walls and simultaneously decouples the subfloor and covering, thus increasing the floor's lifespan. Control is conveniently managed via thermostat or app, allowing the desired temperature to be adjusted at any time. In combination with tiles or natural stone, the gentle radiant heat becomes noticeable after approximately 15 minutes. DITRA-HEAT-E It can also be operated with self-generated electricity – for example from a photovoltaic system – completely without oil or gas, and thus fits seamlessly into a modern, energy-conscious home.
