New turbodiesel for the Renault Captur

Starting in March, the Renault Captur crossover will be available with the Energy dCi 110 eco2 engine with automatic start & stop. This diesel engine from the 1.5 dCi family meets the Euro 6 emissions standard.

Crossover models everywhere: Wherever you look, hardly any manufacturer has ignored the trend of building city-compatible, smaller SUVs. Renault has also launched such a crossover SUV with the Captur, thus bridging the gap between classic compacts and popular sporty SUVs.

And, of course, the manufacturers are launching their crossovers with the same range of engines that customers are used to from their other model series. This applies to the Captur as well as to many other models. From March, the Renault model will also be available with the Energy dCi 110 eco2 engine with automatic start & stop, a turbodiesel. The diesel engine from the 1.5 dCi family meets the Euro 6 emissions standard and, according to the manufacturer's specifications, enables a combined fuel consumption of 3,7 liters per 100 kilometers under the hood of the Captur. This corresponds to CO2 emissions of 98 mpg. grams per kilometer. According to Renault, this makes the Captur Energy dCi 110 eco2 one of the most efficient vehicles in its class.

Top equipment from 22.290 euros

Renault offers the Energy dCi 110 eco2 engine in the Captur at a base price starting at €20.590 for the Dynamique trim and €22.290 for the top-of-the-line Luxe trim. The four-cylinder engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Theoretically, the driver should be able to travel 1.216 kilometers with the Energy dCi 110 eco2 – whether this is the case will only be determined through extensive practical testing. According to Renault, this range is based on the comprehensive technology package. This includes, among other things, the automatic start & stop system and Energy Smart Management for recovering kinetic energy during braking and coasting. Added to this are the continuously variable oil pump, the turbocharger with variable turbine geometry, and piezoelectric seven-hole injectors.

Maximum torque: 260 Newton meters

The new Captur is certainly no racehorse. The 110 hp turbodiesel engine delivers its maximum torque of 260 Newton meters at 1.750 rpm. This results in a top speed of 180 km/h, and it sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in eleven seconds.
