Nissan unveils electric campervan

Nissan and Eifelland will present a fully electric campervan with flexible interior fittings, a large battery and extensive standard equipment at the Caravan Salon 2026.

The all-electric Nissan Interstar -e forms the basis for the new Relax campervan , which Nissan is presenting with its cooperation partner Eifelland at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf (August 28 to September 6). At stand A09 in hall 15, Eifelland will demonstrate how electromobility, living comfort, and everyday usability are combined in a modern motorhome.

The campervan, based on the Nissan Interstar-e, combines a long-range electric drive with the compact dimensions of a van and the features of a fully equipped motorhome, making it particularly suitable for surfers, kitesurfers, and wave riders with their equipment. Prices for the Eifelland Relax, based on the Nissan Interstar-e, start at €89.900 (including VAT).

Battery and drive

The heart of the vehicle is an 87-kilowatt-hour battery , which offers a WLTP range of up to 410 kilometers for the base vehicle. The battery can be charged at DC fast-charging stations with a power output of up to 130 kilowatts. A 22-kilowatt AC charger is also included as standard equipment . The Nissan Interstar-e's electric motor delivers 105 kilowatts (143 hp) and a maximum torque of 300 newton meters.

Inside, the Eifelland Relax offers proven travel comfort : a permanently installed bed with a slatted frame, mattress, and a sleeping area of ​​approximately 1,90 by 1,60 meters; a kitchenette with a 90-liter refrigerator , induction cooktop, and sink; and a solid wood interior with wall cabinets above the kitchenette and bed. The custom-built interior provides approximately 2,6 cubic meters of storage space . With an unladen weight of 3.065 kilograms and a permissible total weight of 3.500 kilograms, this results in a payload of up to 435 kilograms.

Eifelland has designed the Relax as a four-seater: The redesigned living area allows for two additional individual seats that can be removed and freely positioned within the passenger compartment if needed. This allows the vehicle to be adapted to different usage requirements. For example, if only the driver and one passenger are traveling, more space remains in the kitchen area.

The standard Truma Eezy auxiliary heater is powered directly by the vehicle's high-voltage battery. With low energy consumption, it enables comfortable, self-sufficient heating – without significantly impacting the vehicle's range. The Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function opens up new possibilities for independent camping without an external power supply.

Standard and safety equipment

The other features are based on the N-Connecta variant of the Nissan Interstar-e. Standard equipment includes automatic climate control, wireless smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an inductive charging pad. The 22-kilowatt on-board charger ensures quick charging stops on the go , while a reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, and 360-degree side protection simplify maneuvering.

Extensive driver assistance systems enhance safety : An intelligent autonomous emergency braking system with pedestrian and cyclist detection, a driver drowsiness detection system, as well as lane keeping and crosswind assist systems provide support, especially on long journeys and highways. Some of these systems meet the requirements of the European General Safety Regulation 2, while others exceed them.
