New generation of Citroën Jumpy

A new platform allows for even more versatility in the long-selling Jumpy. Three size variants are available. Incidentally, the Peugeot Expert and the Toyota Proace are identical in construction.

Selling a commercial vehicle around 600.000 times within 20 years is no easy feat. This requires quality and consistency at all levels. Citroën has achieved this with the Jumpy. Now the French company is introducing a new generation of the commercial vehicle.

Among the new features is the modular platform. Thanks to this, Citroën offers several variants of the vehicle in different dimensions: as a panel van, station wagon, double cab, and platform chassis. These are available in three lengths (XS: 4,60 meters, M: 4,95 meters, and XL: 5,30 meters), allowing every customer to choose a vehicle tailored to their needs and field of activity.

Towing capacity of 2,5 tons

With the Jumpy, Citroën is targeting a broad audience of tradespeople (crafts, construction, delivery services, service companies, corporations, etc.) and is creating a commercial vehicle for them with a maximum payload of 1400 kilograms, a maximum loading volume of 6,6 cubic meters and a maximum towing capacity of 2,5 tons, which is suitable for all trades. ppe DHB online 20160403 Citroen Jumpy 2can find followers and provide benefits.

The low height of 1,90 meters (XS and M variants) also matches the compact appearance and allows the new Citroën Jumpy to move easily in all situations and everywhere – including city center parking garages, residential complexes, and shopping centers. This results in time and efficiency savings for commercial users who want to drive quickly and directly to customers, according to the manufacturer.

The Moduwork partition wall is also a focal point for tradespeople. This system simplifies everyday work by allowing the outer passenger seat to be folded up against the partition wall, creating a flat loading area and, thanks to the large hatch in the partition wall, a usable length of up to four meters. With the pivoting writing surface and holders for tablets and smartphones, the Citroën Jumpy can also be transformed into a mobile office – this can be a decisive factor for efficient everyday work. And the hands-free sliding side doors make loading and unloading easier when you need to load packages, goods, or equipment and therefore don't have your hands free.

Color head-up display

Citroën also knows that a commercial vehicle today no longer just has to offer space. That is why the French have equipped the Jumpy with several ppe DHB online 20160403 Citroen Jumpy 3Equipped with high-quality technologies that make life easier for tradespeople and, in terms of comfort, perhaps remind them of their company or private car. These include, for example, Top Rear Vision for improved visibility when maneuvering, the color head-up display, and the Connect Nav system with networked 3D navigation with voice control and touchscreen. These are complemented by technologies for even greater safety, such as adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition with recommendations, driver attention warning, and Active Safety Brake.

The Jumpy, which is only available as a diesel, has an output of between 95 and 180 hp and, according to Citroën, consumes between 5,1 and 5,8 liters on average, with CO2 emissions of between 133 and 151 grams per kilometer.

Expert and Jumpy are identical

The Peugeot Expert, by the way, is identical in construction; the two models form a van series within the PSA Peugeot Citroën group. The new Peugeot Expert has a maximum payload of 1400 kilograms and, like the Jumpy, is available in three lengths – from 4,60 meters for the all-new compact version to 5,30 meters. The third model in the 2,8-ton segment is the Toyota Proace. As part of their partnership with PSA, the Japanese manufacturer is building its van on the PSA Group's new EMP2 platform.
