The state government in North Rhine-Westphalia offers small and medium-sized enterprises a digital education program to support them in defending against disinformation and cyberattacks.
The state government of North Rhine-Westphalia has launched a new digital training program called " Stable on the Net – The NRW Security Check on Disinformation, AI, and Cybersecurity ." Its aim is to strengthen resilience against disinformation and cyberattacks. The free program is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) whose personnel and time resources for professional development are limited. Through interactive simulations, employees can test their skills, identify tactics and threats, and learn how to confidently address them.
Last year, the state government adopted a cross-departmental action plan against disinformation. A key element is the promotion of media literacy among adults. This includes collaboration with businesses to strengthen the critical handling of digital information. The new service is part of this action plan. Other resources in this area include a special section on disinformation in " DigitalCheckNRW ," " NewsCheckNRW, " and a game on preventing Islamism . Companies are also increasingly becoming targets, threatening not only their own existence, but sometimes also the security of us all. By supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in making their employees resilient against disinformation and cyberattacks, we strengthen the economy, protect businesses, and ultimately, our democracy."
Minister of Economic Affairs Mona Neubaur (Greens) explains: "Disinformation, AI-based deception, and cyberattacks have long since become a challenge for companies of all sizes. Anyone who wants to maintain a strong economy must therefore also strengthen their digital resilience. Resilience is not created solely through modern technology, but above all through informed and vigilant employees. With 'Stable on the Net', we support companies in strengthening their security culture – practically, accessibly, and free of charge."
