Robert Wüst receives a gold craftsman's badge

Robert Wüst, President of the Potsdam Chamber of Skilled Crafts, was awarded the Gold Craftsman's Badge, the highest award of German skilled crafts.

Robert Wüst, President of the Potsdam Chamber of Skilled Crafts , was awarded the Gold Craftsman's Badge. It is the highest award of the German skilled crafts sector and is given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the economic self-governance, reputation, or interests of the German skilled crafts sector.

Jörg Dittrich, President of the Central Association of German Crafts , awarded the Gold Craftsman's Badge at the Potsdam Chamber's garden party. In his laudatory speech, he said: "If anyone embodies how to shape times of change and not simply let them happen to us, it is certainly Robert Wüst."

Influential personality

Wüst was a defining figure in the skilled trades, who assumed responsibility very early on and made the trades in Brandenburg modern, agile, and visible. "Anyone could leave after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Many did. But to stay, to build, to shape, and to be a part of something: Robert Wüst accomplished all of that."

He not only acts as an entrepreneur and chamber president with energy, a down-to-earth approach, and strong communication skills, but also inspires young people in particular to pursue skilled trades and volunteer work. This is because he radiates the joy of life inherent in these professions and voluntary commitments. "He receives the Gold Craftsman's Badge as a token of gratitude and recognition for giving direction, a voice, and a future to the skilled trades for more than a decade."

High appreciation for voluntary work

The master metalworker from Pritzwalk is the fifth generation to run the 116-year-old family business, Metallbau Wüst. Since 2016, he has served as the honorary head of the Potsdam Chamber of Skilled Crafts. Furthermore, the 40-year-old represents the interests of Brandenburg's skilled trades sector to politicians, administrators, and the public as President of the Brandenburg State Association of Chambers of Skilled Crafts.
