Alf Reuter remains president of the BIV for Orthopedic Technology

Alf Reuter was re-elected as president of the Federal Guild Association for Orthopedic Technology. Tobias Chaumont has been newly elected to the board as vice president.

The delegates of Federal Guild Association for Orthopedic Technology (BIV-OT) re-elected Alf Reuter as president. Tobias Chaumont is the new vice president, replacing Albin Mayer, who did not run for re-election. Matthias Bauche, Thomas Münch, and Andreas Rulitschka also left the board. Other re-elected board members are Joachim Glotz, Lars Grun, Lars Jäger, Petra Menkel, and Michael Schäfer. The board now consists of seven members.

"The coming years will be pivotal for our trade and our association. Especially in challenging times, orthopaedic technology needs a united, clear, and reliable voice. At the same time, we must consistently position the BIV-OT for the future: with a successful generational transition, attractive conditions for volunteer work, and further professionalization of our association's activities. This will create the foundation for effectively representing the interests of our member companies in the future," said Reuter.

Tobias Chaumont is a member of the management board of the Rahm GmbHHe brings many years of experience in the assistive technology sector and knowledge of the economic challenges faced by businesses. Chaumont has been involved in the BIV-OT's economic committee since 2019 and participated in the meeting as a delegate of the orthopaedic technology guild for the Cologne administrative district.

"The healthcare market is currently undergoing profound change. Given the strained financial situation of statutory health insurance, the shortage of skilled workers, and the increasing digitalization of our manufacturing processes, we must develop new and intelligent solutions. As Chairman of the Economic Committee, I want to contribute to ensuring that the supply of medical aids remains economical and of high quality in the future. Ensuring cost-effectiveness in statutory health insurance provision is one of the association's central concerns," he said.
